Provided on this site are my conversational prose poems about individuals that I taught and worked with during my early years as a classroom teacher. (I lasted 10 years in the profession.)
The poems honor, celebrate, and commiserate with these individuals; they all are special people. (Names have been changed to respect the privacy of each person.) The poems also consider, among other things, my preparedness as a young teacher.
I envision these poems as being part of a large collection that may one day become my own Spoon River Anthology of sorts. I would think that anyone with an interest in public education will connect with the thoughts and feelings that I express.
